 2.4. Market Information

 1. Where can I find bond quotation and transaction information?

  1. Bond dealers are required to report bond transactions taken place at their business place to TPEx once the trade is executed. TPEx will compile the data reported by bond dealers and produce and post daily statistics or quotation information on TPEx website. (Please refer to TPEx website > Bond > Bond Trading Info.)
  2. Bond dealers that buy and sell bonds through the TPEx Electronic Bond Trading System (EBTS) can give quotes on book-entry central government bonds, local government bonds, corporate bonds and financial debentures, and can make price inquiry and strike a deal online. The price quotes and transaction information are disclosed and updated during the market on a real-time basis, which improves the efficiency of information disclosure and helps prevent information gap and distortion. The quotes and transaction data of bond dealers on EBTS are simultaneously disclosed on TPEx website. Transaction statistics and quotations are also published on the TPEx website.  2. I would like to gather more information on bonds before I make an investment. Where can I find such information?

  1. Issuer information
    To learn more about the bond issuer, investors can visit the "Market Observation Post System" (emops.twse.com.tw) to inquire an issuer's basic information, financial statements and material information.
  2. Bond issuance information
    To learn more about the terms and conditions of an issued bond, investors can visit the “Bonds” section of the Market Observation Post System (emops.twse.com.tw). The “Bonds” section is established by Taipei Exchange to improve the information transparency of corporate bond market. It contains information on the tenor, coupon rate, guarantee and principal repayment and other terms and conditions of government bonds, corporate bonds, convertible (exchangeable) bonds, bonds with warrant and financial debentures.
  3. Bond trading information (transaction information)
    Bond dealers are required to promptly report bond transactions taken place over-the-counter to Taipei Exchange. Taipei Exchange would compile all the transaction information for the day and produce statistical charts and quotation/price report and publish them after 4:30 PM daily. Investors can visit the “Bond Market Info” section of Taipei Exchange website.

 

 3. How to inquire the conversion record of a convertible bond?

Investors can visit the Market Observation Post System to inquire the status of a bond in the past three months or inquire its historical data (not including data in the past there months) by going to Home > Bonds > Bond issuance info and inputting the code or name of convertible bond, and selecting “previous month” or “next month”, and then “company code” to find the basic information of the bond.

 4. How to inquire the number of a convertible bond that is not yet converted into equity and the latest conversion price?

Investors can visit the Market Observation Post System to inquire the basic information and conversion (exchange) price of a convertible (exchangeable) bond by going to Home > Bonds > Bond issuance info.> Data in the past three months and inputting the code or name of convertible bond and company code.

 5. Where can I find the basic information of a foreign bond?

Investors can inquire the basic information of a registered foreign bond on TPEx website (Home > Bond > Registered Foreign Bonds) or obtain the information from a securities firm that buys or sells the foreign bond.
